Consolidation & Relocation Programme

Project Overview 

G4S plc is a British multinational security services company headquartered in London, England. G4S is active in more than 90 countries with over 570,000 employees, it is the world’s third-largest private employer, the largest European and African private employer, and among the largest on the London Stock Exchange.

G4S announced in 2018 it was due to close their Sutton Park House premises and integrate staff into Southside HQ and various other sites in 2019.

iPWC were appointed to undertake a thorough workforce engagement programme to ultimately oversee the seamless integration of Sutton Park House operations equipment and assets into Southside HQ and Gillingham Street.

The project involved working closely with key stakeholders in both Southside and Sutton Park House to identify assets that needed to be retained for future business needs and transferred to new locations. Moreover, an analysis was undertaken to help determine the best and most suitable workplace adjacencies and future work locations for relocating staff and departments.

Key to the programme was the need to develop and lead a robust project integration delivery programme to ensure business operations at both sites could operate efficiently in a period of change.

Our Approach

The client brief required our team to fully understand the culture of the organisation, its broad operating functions and existing working practices in order to clearly define the business needs, understand business adjacencies and develop flexible workplace solutions.

To achieve this, we applied our unique methodology and programme management approach working with our key partners across the G4S sites to establish a G4S Transition & Change Working Group.

Key subject matter experts across a variety of departments (including Legal, HR, FM/IT, Risk Management, Tax and Treasury and various other departments) were invited to contribute towards the development of the project delivery plan that was used to guide both project execution and project control.

Output & Benefits

The key outcome was the efficient transition of the Sutton Park House operations into Southside HQ and Gillingham Street. Our methodical, agile and engaging manner to this complex project ensured staff, equipment and operations were smoothly integrated into a busy existing operating environment in London with minimal disruption.

IPWC provided great customer service during their time with G4S, providing a very hands on approach. The relocation moves and changes were handled with great care and understanding, a legacy in which G4S will inherit going forward.
